WordSesh – 24hrs of Free WordPress Talks – This Weekend

I heard about this project a while ago, but it wasn’t until I saw a chance tweet from @krogsgard that I realised it is this weekend!

So, what’s there to be excited about? Well, for 24 hours straight, starting at midnight UTC on Saturday morning (April 13, 2013), people from all over the world will be giving presentations on their topic of choice, about WordPress.

The list of speakers includes some of the WordPress elite, such as Noel Tock, Frederick Townes and Pippin Williamson, and plenty of names I haven’t heard before: that’s not to say that they’re not big in the WordPress community – it’s just a big community and I look forward to trying to see as many as possible.

The sessions will be available, for free, via live stream and will also be recorded for access after the event has finished.

And what can you expect to learn? There really is something for everybody, from beginner to developer. Here’s a select list of session titles (see the full list):

  • Managing support for a premium WordPress plugin
  • WordPress Plugins, Code, and the Ecosystem in General
  • Building Social Integrations Into Your WordPress Website
  • Building Greater Profits Into Your WordPress Business
  • Becoming a Successful WordPress Freelancer
  • WordPress Performance Optimization
  • Ermahgerd! Content Types!

With the 24 hour schedule, the organisers are enabling global access to at least a good chunk of the sessions (unless you’re planning an all-nighter to catch them all!).

It’s like an online WordCamp and while the networking aspect may not be there, the amount of sessions and learning more than make up for it. Oh yeah, and it’s free. Nothing to lose!

What sessions are you most looking forward to?
